Folding Proteins?
Yes, folding proteins. To put it simply, we're trying to figure out as much as possible about how proteins work, and how we can replicate it. The goal of course is to figure out ways to help fight cancer, alzheimers, and other diseases believed to be caused by "misfolded" proteins.

What are we trying to do? Help the process along. The folks at Stanford have created a distributed client in order to get this folding work done as quickly as possible. They need our help, so why not put your idling computer to good use, and join our TeamAnandtech folding team.

Visit Folding@Home for more detailed information. Or go ahead and download it now. Any other questions? Check out their FAQ.

My suggestion would be to use the graphical client. Enter your desired username, and be sure to use 198 as the team designation... that's TeamAnandtech.
